Nicolet senior Victoria Jewell has been selected as a winner of the National Merit Scholarship 🎉
Among all students who entered the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program, only about 16,000 were named Semifinalists. They were designated on a state representational basis, in proportion to each state’s percentage of the national total of graduating high school seniors. In order to advance in the competition and be considered for a Merit Scholarship award, a Semifinalist had to become a Finalist by fulfilling several requirements that included submitting a detailed scholarship application and presenting a record of very high academic performance. All winners of about 6,870 National Merit Scholarships are being chosen from the group of more than 15,000 distinguished Finalists.
Congratulations Victoria for being recognized as a $2,500 National Merit Scholarship Winner. The entire Nicolet Community is thrilled for Victoria’s accomplishment‼

WEDC awards Nicolet Union High School $25,000 Fab Lab Grant
Funds to equip high-tech lab, prepare students for jobs of the future 👏
Governor Tony Evers and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) announced today that Nicolet Union High School is the recipient of a state grant to fund new fabrication laboratory (fab lab) facilities, which will equip Wisconsin students with essential skills for the 21st century’s global economy. Nicolet Union High School was awarded $25,000 to purchase additional equipment for the District Career and Technology Education program.
“Fab labs provide students throughout Wisconsin with access to high-tech equipment for hands-on experience and training necessary to prepare them for the jobs of the future,” Governor Tony Evers said.
“We are pleased to award more than $496,000 to 20 school districts today so they can establish or expand their fab lab programs,” Governor Evers said. “These great spaces for learning are of enormous benefit to students directly, of course, but also their communities by fostering collaboration, bolstering access to technology, encouraging innovation, and inspiring the next generation of leaders.”
“We are proud to be selected as a 2025 Fab Lab grant recipient. These funds will be used to expand our existing Fab Lab via the purchase of a precision measurement kit. Expanding the Fab Lab with advanced precision measurement tools will equip students with high-demand skills for both the workforce and post-secondary education. This grant will address funding gaps for purchasing precision measurement equipment, enabling Nicolet to meet the instructional needs of a growing number of students interested in fabrication, robotics, and manufacturing.” Jeff Pruefer, Nicolet Director of Business Services
