In late November, families were asked to select their child(ren)’s second semester learning preference. In this model, students that opted for in-person learning will attend the Nicolet campus on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesday will be a remote learning day for all students.
The Nicolet School Board reviewed and discussed parent and staff feedback, internal health metrics and feedback from the North Shore Health Department and voted to transition to in-person learning with a remote option for the second semester starting January 28, 2021. Minor adjustments have been made to the semester two calendar in order to accommodate in person standardized testing.
Administrators continue to work with the North Shore Health Department to monitor public health statistics and indicators for the transition between phases. These metrics may include, but are not limited to:
- The seven day rolling average of percentage of positive cases in our community;
- The number of positive COVID-19 cases in area districts with blended and face to face models;
- Adequate staffing; and
- The number of positive cases for students and staff.
